V Is For Vial's Primrose

.... otherwise known as primula vialii. I do love these. I've tried to grow them but never succeeded in giving them the right conditions, in spite of growing other primula successfully. Of course I probably can't provide the altitude of the high valleys of SW Sichuan, however high that might be. We are at 200m above sea level.

We had planned today to go to our local garden centre but everything there, except the cafe, is outdoors. The rain was absolutely pouring. A change of plan was called for!

Off the three of us went to Dobbies, in search of my "V". I'd forgotten all about the vialii and was happy to have got a scarlet verbena.
