Showing Off
We awoke to another glorious morning, with just enough breeze to feel it come through the window screens. We had breakfast on the front porch again. Tomorrow is our last day for this trip. Today is cleaning day. I straightened the kitchen, changed our bed linens, did laundry and dusted the house while my sister worked in her flower gardens. Like me, she has flowers growing in many gardens. She had already finished her laundry while I enjoyed the breeze. The guys cut the lawn and worked on the fencing used to deter varmints from destroying the landscape. Yesterday, a neighboring cow ate some of the flowers my sister had in a planter. No telling who visits when we are not here. I took a walk around the gardens and chose to highlight a few of my sister’s prettiest blooms. We gave her the multicolored hibiscus for her birthday. My sister found more laundry while I worked on my blip. Dinner is almost all prepared. I still have to make some slaw. We should have a quiet evening. If it was like last night, we dozed more than we read. My children have chosen 21 June for their father’s life celebration. Everyone’s calendar is clear that day. Hopefully you have a few clear days on your calendar for some R&R this summer. Thanks for your visit. Stay safe. "I had always planned to make a large painting (blip) of the early spring, when the first leaves are at the bottom of the trees, and they seem to float in space in a wonderful way. But the arrival of spring can't be done in one picture." – David Hockney
