Hello Elephant!

To the elephant on two wheels for some Tuesday spinning. I was certainly making the most of the dry day before the forecast heavy rain for 24 hours from 5am tomorrow!!

The elephant mural has been on the sole remaining building of the Bradford University Oxenhope Moor facility at the top of Cock Hill for many, many years. I've no idea who the painter is but they do keep "redecorating" the elephant!! It's been seated with it's trunk down and now it stands tall, trunk high in the air.

I believe the building was used as an RAF navigation site in World War 2. Following that Bradford University used it as a weather forecasting lab. However, it is no longer in use following damage to the requirement in a storm!

The elephant remains and will always mark the top of one of my favourite Yorkshire climbs. :-)
