The Art Room

We were down to 8 walkers today on account of a breakfast sausage related poisoning and an injury. Our first destination was The Ursulines Monastery in Loutra. We got a detailed tour of what remains of the building after it closed in the early 1990s and ceased to be one of Greece’s foremost female educational center for children all over the country. The last Mother Superior appointed 3 local people to be the guides and custodians one of whom hosted our visit.

We walked back from Loutra down to the coast andTinos town, up and down ancient pathways, the vegetation greener and the previously barren hillsides now covered in grapevines. Our progress was slow and we had frequent water and snack stops as the temperature rose to 27.

Our last night in Tinos and the best meal at a taverna tucked away in a quiet part of town. An early start tomorrow for the first ferry of the day to Andros.
