Bargello - so many delights ...

Last morning in Florence. My friend, Deb, shot off to see the Michelangelo medici tombs ... and we met up a little while later in the Bargello.

What a way to finish our week. Yes ... there's so much more to see but the knees and a heavy cold were limiting factors for my energy. I savoured everything I saw.

More stunning Donatello sculptures fabulous jewellery and a super treat of early metalworks and ivories too. I know the ivory side is a blot on history that resonates down the centuries ... the artistry and craftsmanship - though - were sublime.

Easy trip back ... stayed in London for another couple of nights.
