Waterfall

Cool water tumbling down from the rock garden towards the pond in Edinburgh Botanic Gardens on a hot day. Hundreds of people were enjoying the summer weather and having picnics on the grass in the shade of trees with all the shaded seats occupied and the seats in the sun frequently free, which makes a change. The lush green vegetation was intermingled with the yellow of the monkey flowers, the blue of cranesbill and the purple of foxgloves while the silver water sparkled in the sunshine. As always the gardens are full of beauty and I managed to get a heron fishing but decided to submit this photo and will take others later showing the stream at different times ofthe year.
