Three Little Stilts

Spent a few hours out at the Boulder Bank area this afternoon.  Glorious sunshine, lots of walking, lots of waiting and listening and a little photographing.  The fantails were, as usual, super-friendly but I still haven't seen a fern bird in the area yet.  I know they're they're inhabitants though as a new sign has emerged: "Fernbird nesting area.  Please keep dogs under control"  Not that anyone's going to be nesting yet but given time........

The stilts were as noisy as ever the moment you walk within 50 metres of them......then I saw why they were concerned......these were 3 juveniles who are obviously still under the care of mumma stilt.  Love their lovely grey eye areas.
