Nature Diary... Poppies

Earlier this year one super confident poppy burst forth, displaying its full glory, with absolutely no sign whatsoever of any of the surrounding poppies even attempting to do the same.
But having wisely chosen to wait while we had weeks of endless rain they have now begun to 'break cover', and two of them have burst forth in a blaze of glory while others wait around them to do the same.
Splendid!!
