Sea Thrift

This morning I walked around Gait Barrows, a National Nature Reserve and a place J and I loved to visit - although that was impossible last year, clints and grikes in limestone country are not accommodating for those with mobility issues. Two extras from the walk - a Duke of Burgundy butterfly (this is apparently one of 20 sites in the country they can be found) and a Birds Eye primrose, the flowers carpeted one particular area like bluebells.

I then travelled to Arnside and walked south along the foreshore. I had lunch - American style pancakes with crispy bacon - at “Bob’s café”. A first - and excellent I ended up walking a lot further than I had intended. The image is of sea thrift, lots of it everywhere, here with the Kent Estuary and Grange-over-Sands beyond.
