A great effort

H was playing at home today so I caught the end of his U11 game. It’s pairs format so -5 runs for a wicket and the batters change ends but stay on. They needed 28 when H went out in the final pair. H hit some stonking shots and got 27 runs for the team… unfortunately his batting partner lost 3 wickets so with -15 they lost.
Post match analysis on the walk home… apparently it was lost whilst fielding when the same team member missed 2 catches off H’s bowling. H says the problem is having some people in the team who lack focus and passion! But it’s ok cause their overseas player will be back soon… whoever heard of an U11 side having an overseas player?
Whilst H may be frustrated at the others lack of passion, it is great he has found something he feels so passionate about.
