parkrun on a Monday?

What do you do on Whit Monday in the Netherlands? An extra parkrun of course! And that’s what 248 of us did this morning at the scenic Beatrixpark in Almere. Although they are used to a turnout of around 30 people on a normal Saturday, the volunteers and core team managed the whole event beautifully and the morning was a great success. We met a few people we knew from home and afterwards enjoyed coffee and cake with some other parkrun tourists before they dashed back to the hotel to check out and fly back to the UK. Meanwhile, we could afford ourselves a more leisurely afternoon and then later on took a trip into Amsterdam where we went on a canal cruise, followed by more coffee, a wander round and a bite to eat. (Extras). We caught the train back to Almere and returned to our hotel.

Rain threatened at various times today, but apart from a few spots when we were inside and under cover on the boat, we managed to avoid it.
