Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another day of two halves, cool and cloudy in the am, but sunny and hot (ish) in the pm.

JR, after the gym, took Archie to the vet. I was going to take him on the bus, but JR wanted to walk. By the time she left, it was going to be almost impossible to get there on time. I rang the vet’s to say they were on their way, and they were only a couple of minutes late. (17,064 steps) And some of that was running. And uphill! (She wanted me to note…)

Anyway, the vet thought it might be an allergic reaction, and has given him a two week course of steroids. But he was seen as a ‘follow up’ on the operation a couple of months ago, so that’s a bonus. He’s in one of his ‘running around at night’ phases…

We sat out in the sun in the afternoon. I’m glad it was sunny and warm for Hazel’s return from her holiday with her new tan.

I didn’t watch any more of that awful Reindeer thing - JR can finish it tonight when I’ve gone to bed. What a waste of time. And what annoyed me was his ‘comedy show’ at the Edinburgh Fringe. There are too many mediocre shows like that… Though it was free, he stood by the door with a bucket to collect what the audience thought it was worth. Nothing!

I got stuck in one of those ‘shows’ once. I went to support the friend of a person who was the sister of a friend in NZ. It was excruciatingly unfunny. But I did throw some money in the bucket as I scuttled out the door…

Archie fancied this hat. Also collected some grass in his beard.
