Eryngium
What a glorious summer day for weather. I was quietly at home resting my beloved Arth (my right knee for new subscribers - it's a long story!). This afternoon I watched the Wimbledon Ladies Final; somewhat of a disappointment, but the better player won on the day.
This evening I was wandering around the garden and enjoying the herbaceous border. It's at its absolute best right now. This sea holly is wrongly placed at the front of the border but seems very comfortable there so it has stayed. I love the spiky structure. I used a long lens here in order to allow the pastel colours behind to form an gentle abstract backdrop.
More exciting photography to come tomorrow.
