Sunday Tea Time

It is indeed nearly tea time so that’s the cue to post today’s blip.

I was meeting and greeting at church this morning, helping to make any newcomers feel welcome. I got there early, pushing Mum’s rollator/shopping trolley all the way from home. I sat with a couple who were visiting our church for the first time, though no need to explain anything to them about the service as it turned out the gentleman was a retired priest! They’d come down from Edinburgh for their twin grandchildren’s baptism on Tuesday at another church in our benefice. Such lovely people, I hope everything goes well for them and their family. The church friend I gave Mum’s trolley to was delighted - I really hope she gets on with it and finds it helpful to get around with.

This afternoon I have at last got round to sorting out a lot of the mess in the garage. Two big bags full of rubbish, another bag full of redundant old electrical goods and yet another full of chopped up cardboard boxes! Added to these are two garden waste bags full of, well, garden waste from my weeding efforts the other day. These will all be disposed of at various points during the coming week, as well as a tatty shower stool and soap rack that aren’t good enough to donate. I’ve saved the better boxes and lots of bubble wrap to take to the flat for packing breakable items with. My photo shows some shelving which my Dad made and put up in the garage. The contents of the shelves are untouched since he died nearly ten years ago. To the top left of the image is a photo box displaying a picture of him paddling in the sea - a happy memory of a long-ago holiday.

Now for my tea, followed by a bit of relaxation on the sofa reading one of my two book club novels, both of which I need to finish in the next couple of weeks.
