Astounding Natural Beauty
I don't know how, having been born in Manchester, I had never been to Ireland. Well, it is never too late, I suppose, and when I discovered my Great Grandfather was born there, I felt it would be good to pay a visit this time. I had also heard that it was beautiful, especially the Atlantic coast and so, again, after a night close to Dublin, we drove the 4 hours that it takes to traverse the country. The main photo was taken after we passed Galway and drove for about 40 miles past one lake after another with mountains in the background.
In the morning I had discovered a campsite a few miles from Kylemore Abbey, which L had already decided we should visit having read about it, but we also struck gold with the site, which has really good facilities, showers, laundry and wifi that actually works, which is a rare thing for these sites. We have now stayed at over 40 different sites in our camper and this is the best internet signal we have ever had, and ironically we are stuck out on the edge of the west of Ireland nearly in the sea!
Extras of the amazing sandy beach, the Atlantic and the backdrop of hills and mountains covered in wonderful cloud shapes. And L actually talking to amandoAlentejo, mikedtrapia and paultrapia back in the UK with the sun setting at her back. Truly grateful for the wonders of the world we live in.
