Trains, and boats and busses.
To start we used our bus pass!
Please take note BPWs!
Torquay to Paignton.
Then we did the Round Robin.
Steam train to Kingswear. Ferry across the river to Dartmouth. Cruise up the river Dart.
Ferry back to Kingswear. Steam train back to Paignton, and bus back to Torquay.
What a fabulous day out. I can throughly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
We had nearly three hours in Dartmouth before the cruise, and two hours afterwards.
Plenty of time to have morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.
We hadn’t realised that it was Dartmouth Music Weekend.
Some great music throughout the town. Such a wonderful atmosphere too. Everyone happy, singing along or tapping their feet or even dancing.
The pubs were buzzing. As it was a lovely warm day most people were sat outside.
We enjoyed listening to jazz, classic songs and 40s music provided by the Liberty Sisters.
Just had a short shower as we got off the boat.
Dartmouth is a lovely town. Some very old interesting buildings and numerous individual shops and art galleries.
Of course it is overlooked by the grand old Naval Collage. There were quite a few students “ messing about in boats”!
I have put a postcard of the day on as an extra, but thought the steam train should be the Star today.
The Lydham Manor, 7827. Built in Swindon in 1951.
We should sleep well tonight.
Thank you for all your kind comments, stars and hearts fir the last few days. Will hopefully catch up with Blip when we get back home.
