Family time at the Zoo.

We went with our older son, daughter-in-law and grandson to a local Zoo. We had a lovely day. Our grandson has already been to the Safari Park, so my wife and I were catching up somewhat! The Zoo has many rescue animals including retired circus bears and lions, a three legged cheetah (with chums), and more recently a bear from Ukraine where the Zoo was destroyed; I enjoyed standing on my own watching him eat. I also liked watching a fosso and the Scottish wildcats. And otters; not seen that many in the wild, they were intriguinging. I liked the macaws too. The place has a lot of volunteers who look after the animals, lovely landscaping and undertake a lot of the general maintenance. It’s quite evident it costs a lot to run, I noticed many people had made donations over the years to this family business.
