On the doorstep

I was surprised to see this locust on the doorstep as I stepped out this morning. It seemed an odd place to see it. I went down to the market this morning and decided to buy some large squid tentacles for tonight's dinner. It was an experiment having enjoyed eating octopus tentacles in Spain. I boiled them for an hour and then had them warmed in a ratatouille with salt cod mashed potato. I played tennis with Alain in the afternoon. I usually win comfortably but he was on form today and I was below par, feeling rather tired, so it was a close match. We rang the bells before a jazz concert this evening.
