Gavin's Mill
I took this photo of Gavin's Mill (from which Milngavie got its name) from the little bridge over Allander Water while waiting to meet Nancy for coffee there. The old mill wheel is round the corner of the second gable end.
It was such a lovely morning that, by the time we met and went in to order our coffee and cake at the counter, all the tables outside were occupied. No matter, we were just as happy to sit inside.
Nancy was excited to tell me that she'd gone to a jazz concert last night in Drymen Village Hall and had sat at a table with two other ladies. While chatting to them, it transpired that they were both ex-neighbours of mine from 24 years ago. Small world... but that's village life!
