Quote Of The Day
"May your life someday be as awesome as you pretend it is on Facebook."

Bonus Quote Of The Day
"Welcome to Facebook. The place where relationships are perfect, liars believe their own bullshit, and the world shows off they are living a great life. Where the enemies are the ones that visit your profile the most, your friends and family block you, and even though you write what you are really thinking, there is always someone that takes it the wrong way."
(Is This Hell Or Facebook? )
So glad I disconnected myself from Facebook a couple of years ago. Even though I wasn't really bothered by that whole Is my life awesome enough? Do I have enough friends? competitiveness - I've always been very happy living a quiet, dorky lifestyle - but I was disturbed by the way in which I frequently witnessed the disintegration of politite social interaction on the platform. The pattern was so predictable; Person A would post an opinion, Person B would disagree and immediately take offence, Person A would tell Person B that Person A has a right to express their opinion so Person B can just S.T.F.U..... and so on, ad infinitum.
The words, "I disagree with you, but I respect your right to hold an opinion contrary to my own. Let us, instead, discuss one of the many matters upon which we agree," are rarely seen on Facebook. They just don't generate enough clicks, I guess.
Anyway, I had a lovely day hiking 20 kilometers to the top of Mount Rokko and down into Takarazuka not talking to anyone.
Everything Is Awesome!
