Bewitched?
Top right and bottom left are taken from the bridge into CoosBay.
This morning I had an appointment at my Honda garage in Coos Bay, which is an hour drive away from home. Already after half an hour of driving , in Reedsport, I was stopped at the first traffic light because of an accident: two big trucks had crashed into each other. The wait was tolerable as the police created a small detour.
Then, nearly in Coos Bay, the traffic stopped when I was about 15 meters on the bridge, the big green one that I have posted several times.
After waiting 45 minutes and learning that three cars had crashed into each other, I called the garage, arranged for a new appointment next Friday and then decided to turn around on this two lane bridge and head back home. After having looked at the left lane totally empty all this time I started my maneuver to turn around. And, as if I could have expected , right then when I was blocking both lanes on the bridge, an
Ambulance came with flashing lights. Everybody was very cooperative and helped me back to my spot…Three minutes later I tried again to leave my trap - and sure enough - the same thing happened, an ambulance showed up the moment I was blocking both lanes…
Thanks to the very kind gentleman behind me who helped me to safety both times.!!
Now driving back to Florence I decided to make a stop in Winchester Bay to find a restroom and see whether my favorite fish restaurant would be open.
I was lucky on both counts and enjoyed a delicious Italian fish soup in the restaurant and took some dish home for Don.
Will post the pics of Winchester Bay in the extras.my entry for yesterday has been “backblipped”.
