All green
Richard was up at 5 this morning to get the morning ferry to Belfast from Birkenhead. Luckily I managed to fall asleep again after he left, so I wasn't too tired later on.
Val and I went for a quick morning walk in the Botanical Gardens before showers set in: it's lush there at the moment, full of growth and blossom.
Later I did a bit of clearing up at home and packed a bag for a short weekend trip that I've planned, for while R is away.
And then I picked Luca up from nursery - a one-off, as Ruth and Josh had an unexpected clash of work commitments. Luca was in fine form, chatting all the way home in the car about games he's invented and/or imagined. Mostly these feature contests between him and Eben, in which Luca usually emerges victorious over his big brother :-)
The image is of our mulberry tree. It has survived the huge haircut that I gave it in the winter, aiming to restore the espalier shape. There should be plenty of fruit in a few weeks' time, providing that we get to it before the blackbirds do.
