Drama In The Woods

I got a phone call from George’s school to say that he’d been injured at playtime.

Apparently his friend scared him and as he jumped forward, a branch went into his eye.

I rushed to school to collect him, where he looked a very sorry state. We joked about needing a pirate’s eye patch but it was obviously necessary to get it checked.

The pharmacist passed me onto an optician, who passed me onto a different opticians, as she had no available appointments and much to George’s annoyance we were then passed onto a third optician who thankfully offered to examine his eye.

After a thorough examination, we were told that he’s badly scratched his eyeball, going right across the centre of the eye.

He’s been given two lots of eye drops to ensure that there’s no infection and to promote healing.

He was very brave.
