The National Gallery

Setting up for the local arts society meeting. A glass of wine and a chat at St Mary's church.

A talk about the two hundredth anniversary of the National Gallery. Apparently it started as a government purchase of a private collection and grew from there. 

What a wonderful collection of masterpieces. It's free and perhaps I should pop in more often. Our speaker is a guide and expert at the gallery and an accomplished artist in her own right. 

An interesting evening.
