Arrived

Dry all the way to the tunnel through the Julian Alps and as we emerged on the north eastern side it started to rain. The journey from Frankfurt took 8 hours 24 minutes and the change over time was only 7 minutes at Villach. The train drivers did us proud though and got us into Villach a minute early so we caught the train to Jesenice with no problems and apart from a bit of trouble finding our taxi driver it was all good.
Already spotted some Soviet era architecture (the railway station) but the welcome was warm and the people friendly.
Very nice hotel for three nights and the blip is the view from the bedroom window.
Eating in tonight at the hotel restaurant and there is a beer downstairs with my name on it.
