Goldie

This is our own yellow submarine, in our pond. He/she has been with us for about five years; prior to that someone else was the caregiver, and we don't know for how long. This is a koi, and all that has happened is that she(. I say she because of the size) has grown bigger and bigger. She and all the many goldfish with her spawn every spring. There is a very modest population increase, but with one exception all the new fish are goldfish. Of course all the fish in the pond regard a spawning as a bonus meal of caviar! What they miss as eggs they catch as fry, only a very few survive I never seem to be able to find any spawn, when I see the spring orgy but I keep trying. Sorry for the poor quality of the blip.
