Empty Chairs of Krakow

Today I went on a tour of the Jewish Quarter in Krakow.

The chairs are art each chair represents a thousand Jewish people who lost their lives in WWII, because the train station that was there was so small people would bring their chairs from their homes and wait, when they boarded the trains they were told to leave all their belongings. This train took them straight to their deaths in the gas chambers of Auschwitz
