Looking for Aurora Borealis
It was just after midnight on Friday when we ventured out to look at the sky. I had my Nikon camera and everyone else used their phone. Everyone else captured the lights and I didn't.
Tonight was another opportunity to try to capture it and the whole family drove up to the windfarm on Fenwick moor, about a twenty minute drive from home as we expected there to be no ambient light. Unfortunately so did around a thousand other people. Although most people turned off their car lights, some didn't and you wanted to explain the concept of no ambient light to them. However a 30 minute walk into the wilderness solved the problem. Unfortunately there was too much cloud for good sightings and we returned home about 1am. The diehards who remained until until 3-4 am reportedly did have some success.
The extra shows the ambient light from Glasgow in the far distance and the car lights of people coming and going from the windfarm.
