Rainbow

We did some shopping around lunchtime and then walked from Ryde to Seaview. It’s a flat walk along the sea, although we stuck to the promenade and didn’t bother with the beach. It was one of those days that quickly switched between blue skies and then a slight drizzle. I suspect that it was a result of those conditions that a rainbow appeared over Portsmouth a number of times on our walk. We tried to get the photo of when it was directly on top of the Spinnaker Tower, but we didn’t catch it. We stopped on the way back for a hot chocolate at the Dell Cafe and then home.

We pottered a little before heading back to The Star as we’d noticed that a folk band was playing tonight. We managed to get a seat nearer the entertainment this evening and not stuck at the back like last night. PY found the cider and sausage menu, so we had a dry cider and ordered a sausage platter. I stuck to a bitter. The music was fun, and the place really filled up. At one point, a group of teenagers walked in - several looking sheepishly underage - and stood around for a while, trying to get a sense of the place. In the end, I think they took one look at the rest of us and realised this wasn’t a place where they would get served, so they went off into the night.
