Back home to the rain and a phone message

Mrs Ottawacker returned home today on that rarest of things, an on-time Air Canada flight. Mind you, it was leaving Winnipeg, so there is always an extra incentive to be punctual for departures.
 
The day had passed pretty quietly until then, but I received the desperate call to pick her and her boss up from the airport and drive them home. I had offered, so off I went.
 
When we got back, we got some news about her dad, who is currently residing down in Sarnia, so made the quick decision to pull Ottawacker Jr from school tomorrow and Friday, and drive the eight hours to get down there.
