Held back
It’s the twelfth of May, and if you look at my previous years’ blips for this date, you’ll see that this is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
The colour purple stands for fibromyalgia. There are several irises blooming in the car park of my little church, but this one is a bit different. Its companions are blooming peacefully, standing proudly upright behind a metal fence.
This one wants to be like them, but it’s being restricted by the unyielding metal, in the same way that my daughter’s life has been restricted by this horrible disease for almost twenty years.
