Half marathon marshalling

Up early, I volunteered to be a marshal at the Bracknell half marathon this morning.  Dutifully in position by 9am (runners start at 8:45), I was at the point just after 7 miles.   Lots of clapping and encouragement to the runners, feeling for them today as the weather was a tad hot.  Had a number of people wanting to know where the next water station was.  In response to the clapping and cheering on lots of “thank you marshall”.   Felt good doing my bit for the community.

Bike, indicating the end of the race, came through around 10:45 and they confirmed my task was completed.
