As I stirred the warming curds and whey (from 30C to 35C over 30 minutes) the sun shining through the window caught on a crystal hanging there and created a starburst on the liquid.

The cheese this week is a Red Leicester. It will be ready in September. 

I've had a quiet day, giving myself time and space to process yesterday's memorial for K. It made her death much more real, and puts her life in a slightly different perspective. It's wonderful to have the luxury of time to mull it all over, without thinking about it too hard.

I'm hoping for clear skies tonight and for more spectacular Merry Dancers. Last night's display was astonishing, stretching from horizon to horizon.
