lovebirds

today is our 14th wedding anniversary - which was ivory - now bone.

as ever, the Kindly Mister finds the best things to delight me.
we both chose lovebird cards & wrote exactly the same words in them - but he went several better with this love bird brooch plus, the pièce de résistance, a 1920s Chinese bone cricket cage signed by the maker. i gave him Purbeck gin...

i'm getting into my summer reading stride: and in the early hours i finished Until August, which i highly recommend.

& then:  i moved on to The Bitch by Pilar Quintana - brilliant - i read it all in one go before i got up.

am hoping to take pics of the aurora tonight.

we went to get Thai takeaway from a truck in the next village - and met another couple who were also celebrating their wedding anniversary.

when we arrived home we found a lovely South African family who we had allowed to park in our drive about 4 years ago.  their twins were keen to go camping again so that was a nice thing to happen on this day.
