Baddesley Clinton National Trust.
We decided on the spur of the moment to go to Baddesley early this morning. When we arrived we were informed that the café wasn’t able to provide meals due to a problem with a leaky roof. But the kiosk outside was selling sandwiches and snacks, along with the variety of drinks.
Beautiful sunshine and very warm. We were wearing our sunhats, as we sat in the courtyard and had a coffee and flapjack. So good to see everyone in summer attire.
Gutted this morning early on to learn that the Northern Lights gave a spectacular display in most of the UK last night around 11.30pm.
A photographer who lives near us has posted amazing photos on his Instagram site.
His name is timcornbill, if you would like to take a peek! The transmitter mast which we can see from our house up in Hill village is visible in one of his photos. It has red warning lights being on one of the regular flight paths to Birmingham Airport.
At the moment I am sitting on the bottom patio with warm sun on my face, having a mug of tea. I’ve not long finished cutting the box hedge and putting the prunings into black sacks, as it has been showing some signs of Box blight, and you cannot put them into the compost or the green waste. They will be taken to the Local Tip where we can ask which big skip to use.
I’ve also used a recommended spray on the parts which were showing signs of being affected.
Otherwise it is looking really healthy.
There are more clouds drifting about just now, and at times it looks a little like it will pour, but then passes over.
The Great Spotted Woodpecker was on the fatballs when we got home after our little excursion, and the nesting pair in the bird box are busy from early morning to evening coming and going with grubs and seeds.
It feels quite sultry right now.
I’ll be watering the seeds our youngest granddaughter planted soon. I can see that one or two of them have already begun to pop their heads above the soil.
Soon be teatime.
Hope everyone has nice weather this weekend whatever you are doing.
A couple more photos in extras.
