Out In The Sun

Glorious day to be in the Defence Gardening Scheme Garden out at the Eden Project but someone has to do it.
Today we attempted to erect a ‘fruit cage’, the fun arose when three Veterans, all clearly ex SNCO’s, (the ‘chiefs’) took charge with no ‘Indians’ to do the work. One had OCD which meant that poles in the ground couldn’t be within millimetres but needed to be ‘spot on’; coffee time couldn’t come soon enough.
With a bag of salad greens to take home I headed off for an afternoon in our garden with Mrs S, we managed some odds and ends but in the end I gave in and fed Paddy some dog ice cream, that kept us both happy.

The Epic Evening Row rounded off the day, beautiful out on the water, I rowed the first thirty minutes and coxed the last thirty minutes. Having put the gig away I then got caught up in ‘conversation’ with the drunkest man I’ve seen in a long time, well since Saturday, who appeared to be waiting to launch his yacht!!
