Diary of an Edinburgher

Pub Crawl…

The Aussies arrived about midday, having dropped the hire car off and uber-ed here. With some very heavy bags, I must say. But they have been travelling for several weeks.

Thankfully, we had lovely weather!!! We sat out in the back garden and had a snack before heading into town. Archie went visit Pip for the afternoon - too hot to troop around town for him.

The visitors, H & W, have been in Edinburgh before, so didn’t need to see the castle etc. Instead, we went on a pub crawl. Well, we tried to (even though W doesn’t drink), but a Friday afternoon is not the best time to expect seats! We just had a look in a couple of favourites, the Dome, the Cafe Royal, the Guildford Arms, but managed to get a seat by the bar in the Spence.

Then the others popped in to the National Gallery before walking home and I came home by bus. (9,546 steps).

What a lovely evening we had with them. JR did her usual delicious snacks outside in the sun, then a rather fabulous moussaka when we moved indoors. Followed by ‘Michael Portillo in Madrid’ in the background, and chat about their adventures, while enjoying the gas fire! These two are very widely travelled!
