2024 Wednesday — Cal Fire

We were sitting and relaxing on our top patio when we watched the fire truck roll past our house and then we heard the air brakes. I told Mr. Fun I was going to walk down our path to the house so I could look out the front windows. Just as I got to the front room I heard a knock on our front door; no one ever knocks on our front door. I had no doubt that someone from the fire department was on the other side of the office the door.

Sure enough, when I opened the door two firemen were standing several steps back from our front door. They asked for my husband; they were responding to his phone call from several weeks ago about the property next door to us that has lots of wild foliage that is slowly turning brown. Fire danger is a real concern for us, and especially now that our neighbors on the other side of the vacant property have put a barbecue on their deck and a fire broke out on their deck. The flames blistered the paint all around the window.
