Not what I was expecting to see.....

Another gloriously sunny day, and another little local wander and it was quite quiet on the bird front - lots of butterflies about though, lots of tatty peacocks and a few wall browns!

And then this appeared!!  I noticed something flying strangely and thought 'you don't look like a seagull or egret' so got snapping from far away hoping I could get something on camera! So i was happy to see the results!! Never seen an owl in the daytime locally before so I was a very happy birdwatcher getting to see it fly around!  And that's why I love birdwatching! You never know what you're going to see!
