Shale Bings

These are the 5 Sisters shale bings. The residue from the retorts which heated up the shale to release the oil. They are pretty amazing on their own and certainly look better than the huge bings near Broxburn. There have been noises about clearing them, but these, especially these, should stand testament to the hard work of generations of shale miners!
