Thursday: Horseguards

Until a few weeks ago, we hadn’t anticipated taking this trip to London.  So it’s a happy coincidence that we are here over K’s birthday, which is today.

We started off with a visit to the newly refurbished National Portrait Gallery which we thoroughly enjoyed.  It’s a beautiful space and the diversity of exhibits has always been inspirational.  From there, we entered real tourist mode and went to see the changing of the Horseguards, something neither of us had ever witnessed.

This evening we met our friend, Andrew, for an excellent steak at ‘Hawksmoor’, followed by a drink at a drag bar in Soho.

It’s been a great day, both weather and activity-wise
