Landscape with a portrait filter.

This is a strange blip but it was worth a try. I found a very old soft bi-colored portrait filter and as it was the same size as the rear filter element on my 400mm I thought I'd give it a try.
It was getting close to dark and about the limit for taking photographs anyway.
As you can see the results are interesting. Very soft focus but not out of focus which I expected from a 1940s thick glass filter but what surprised me was the bi-coloring.
Basically brown and green and shades thereof and really quite strong.
Ansel Adams it most certainly is not, but somehow I like this nostalgic look.
Maybe there's a fairie in there somewhere....
