Red-billed leiothrix

Looks like something created by AI, but it's actually real. Yet another species introduced from China/Himalayas to Hawaii, and it reminds me very much of the silver-eared mesia with which I am very familiar from my childhood days in Malaysia. Turns out that it is indeed the same genus. 
A mixed day, beaches, snorkeling, hikes along the rocky coast to Makapu'u lighthouse,  and a rather challenging muddy hike to waimano waterfall where we saw this gorgeous little bird.
