Great Mother!

Krista and her mom had just arrived home and were sitting in her car talking when they noticed a crow on our roof and seeming to have ill intent. Turns out, on closer investigation, there was mother duck and her very large brood, of 14 (!!!), hiding under a car in our driveway.

After we shooed away the persistent crow, the mother slowly considered her options, and decided to cross the street (extra 1), move under the protection of a low hedge (extra 2) and work her way through the neighborhood to a slough about 150 meters away.

She had her brood under complete control the entire time.
