I got my newsletter today. There was an article about the use of rooms in people's houses in the 1960's 
Did you have a front room that was for best and rarely used. My family were the only one's in the street that used their front room. The article said many people had a piano in the front room although some houses had no one who could play and the piano was just for show. 
It was very different from today where a lot of people have a huge kitchen lounge and open plan is more prevalent.
