Just a common blue dragonfly but pretty nonetheless.

I was out on the bike at lunchtime for a relaxed ride around the Cotswold water park area… it is very flat which makes it a good option for a gentle ride.

I came across a bird hide / viewing area by one of the lakes so I pulled over to have a proper look. There was someone there with a camera and he gave me the lowdown on what birds I might see.

While chatting he mentioned he also was keen on photographing insects and dragonflies in particular. Next minute the both of us are snapping common blue dragonflies that suddenly appeared in the vegetation.!
