The Cinque Terre

The Five Villages are in a unique area in the mountains and are connected by a train which runs through the mountains in tunnels.  The area is a UNESCO world heritage site.

We had an all day ticket to travel between the villages, and first of all we took the train to the furthest away and then worked our way back to the largest which is at the sea. 

We had some lunch at Monterossa, and walked around the village and also on the promenade, and at the end there was this huge sculpture, holding up the cliff.  Didn't get any info on it but someone might be able to tell me.

Today we had a wet day, which was unfortunate as it did restrict what we were able to do, but we did get a taste of the Cinque Terre.
