Controversial
These fields were used for grazing for many years. Recently they got taken over for the Lauriston Agroecology Farm which promised (and is delivering) volunteering, recreation, re-wilding and food for the local community.
The original plans incorporated one small shed for equipment and no-one had a problem with that, but it now has several barn shelters, huts and portacabins as well as poly tunnels, windbreaks and frost protection blankets on some young trees. Most of this apparently requires no permission as it is agricultural, temporary or both. Those with a view over the fields are pretty cross the green has been lost to what looks like a waste heap of plastic in many places, with the skyline increasingly dominated by huts and buildings. It does look a bit of a mess...
Funnily enough the pictures on their website just show greenery - no buildings or plastic sheeting/tunnels/windbreaks...
