Arborist
Arborist
Our friendly arborist arrived at 07:45 and after a quick walk around the garden with him he got stuck in. He removed two trees in the front garden, four small trees right at the back of the garden, gave the magnolia, the two pear trees and the cooking apple tree a very hard pruning, chipped all the trunks and foliage, ground the stumps that he could reach without damaging other plants and tidied up after himself. We now have a nice pile of chippings to use as mulch and we’re in his workbook to come back in July to sort out the oak tree and probably remove a couple more trees. There is a lot more light coming in now. Trees are lovely but we have two many of them and they’re very crowded.
I drove down to my Pilates class and posted a card to my cousins afterwards. When I arrived back home I moved the paintings waiting to be hung from the main guest bedroom to bedroom three, did my best to remove the dust from the furniture in the lounge, cleaned the bathroom and swept the floors. MrM, meanwhile, went to the Menzshed and did a little more work on his project then heaved books around until just after 2pm.
Our lovely blipper friend, Mima, visited with her dog Bean to deliver some eggs and have a chat.
I made up the guest bed ready for our friend whom we’re picking up in Lawrence on Thursday afternoon and bringing home with us to stay for three nights.
We walked down to the Oamaru Club for a drink intending to eat there, but the restaurant isn’t open on a Tuesday evening, so we walked back home and bought a couple of steaks at the supermarket on our way. Between us we cooked a delicious supper.
I won’t be on blip for the next few nights.
