Blackening Waxcap
A common mushroom that grows in unimproved grassland, size varies, this was about 1.5 inches across. A conical cap with some colour variation, the flesh blackens with age or when damaged which you can see on the gills in this picture.
I had the opportunity to kayak tonight, a friend took me on the Lancaster canal for a couple of hours paddling, lovely evening and a pint to round it off!
